Amazon is making some interesting changes to searches in its Beauty & Personal Care category.
Shoppers in the US can now search for products and refine their search according to very specific criteria.
What sort of criteria?
We searched for ‘hair dryer’ and ‘shampoo’ and were given refined search options including Gender, Hair Type and Hair Concern.
Gender gave us ‘men’, ‘women’ and ‘unisex’.
Hair Type threw up ‘dry’, ‘oily’, ‘curly’, ‘colour treated’, ‘wavy’ and more.
And Hair Concern included options such as ‘softening’, ‘shine enhancing’, ‘volumizing’, and ‘curl enhancing’.
They make a more focused, customer-friendly, and satisfying search.
Why does it matter?
They are currently only available on Amazon.com, but these results are already taking the spot of Sponsored Brand campaigns on the top of the search page.
