Changes for Amazon Sellers: Launch new products with free storage and returns
Seller sales on Amazon have been growing steadily as a percentage of total Amazon sales for years — and that growth looks set to continue in 2020, as Amazon gives Sellers more benefits.
It has just released a couple more changes for Sellers: changes to help the launch of new products; and — less excitingly — some changes to its fees in the US.
Amazon wants all of the products in the world
Unlike many retailers, Amazon doesn’t select a part of your range — they want it all. They want to let the market decide which products are going to sell and which aren’t. They want to be the place where consumers can find the largest assortment on Earth.
In this respect, they tested a ‘New-to-FBA’ program, offering some free storage and returns for new products. They have decided to extend the program, on an opt-in basis: it will officially launch on 1 April 2020 in the US, Europe and Japan.
What you get
If you opt in, you will be able to get free storage for up to 500 new parent ASINs per calendar year, and for 50 items of each one of them for 90 days.
