Amazon Ads suspended because of the wrong picture: don’t let it happen to you
Amazon can suspend your product advertising without telling you because you have the wrong picture.
Did you know that?
Pictures should simply illustrate the product. So if you put up a picture containing a quote from a review, and/or star ratings, Amazon will suspend your Ad, as these violate the ‘creative acceptance guidelines’ for sponsored products.
This rule applies to all advertising campaigns on Amazon.
What are the guidelines?
The creative acceptance guidelines are worth reading in full before you submit your Ads.
Most of it is common sense — not promoting excess consumption of alcohol; not showing minors in peril; no violence; no vulgar language.
But some of it could catch you out. For instance, your content shouldn’t address the audience directly as ‘you’ or ‘your’ (Amazon’s examples: “Are you looking for xxx, try this” or “Not getting the weight loss results you want?”). Nor should it use pressuring or emotionally-charged language such as “last chance” or “don’t miss out!”
Emoticons/emojis are banned. Contact details, social media addresses, QR codes and even hashtags are outlawed too.
